Trying to get started on book 3.

So it’s been about a month and a half since book 2 came out and I’ve been procrastinating starting book 3 because I feel like this plot line is going to be harder to deal with. Much more is going to happen and I don’t even know which direction I want to go in.

I’m usually not the type to make outlines or notes really but I think I’m going to have to with this book. Just to keep everything straight. I kind of rushed my last book and I don’t want to do that with this one.

What do you guys do when writing? Do you write freely as it comes? Do you make outlines and notes? Do you write specific scenes first then fill in the rest later? What’s your writing style?

3,000 Words Written!

Hi all! Well, I just sat down to do some writing, thinking “Okay, I have to get this book done! People are waiting for me!” So I sat down and ended up writing a whopping 3,000 words! I’m not sure if I have ever done that. It feels awesome! If only I could do that every day, this book would be finished in no time!

So other than that awesomeness, sales for my first book have dropped which is why I’m stepping up my game to get the second one out. I’ve lowered the price to 99 cents but it hasn’t helped. It’s okay thought. Know why?

Because I wrote 3,000 words today! Lol

So, what’s the most words you’ve ever written at one sitting?

The second book in a series

So, I’m working on my second book in the series and it’s much harder than writing the first book. Mainly because I have to go back and check things to see if it follows into the second book. I already messed up once and I’ll have to go back and change things.

I also want this book to be even better and I have people already asking for it so there’s a bit of pressure now. Of course, it’s welcomed pressure. But I don’t think I’ll have my book done by the time I thought I would which makes me sad. Then again, I haven’t been working on it as much as I should have so I can only blame myself.

I hope everyone else is having a fantastic day 🙂

A Time to Write

So, I’m trying to work on my second book in my series and I thought that when I had more time to do that, I would get so much more written. That’s not the case.

See, I was working this temporary full-time job. I knew it was going to end and I was happy because I thought I would have all day (or at least half the day) to do nothing but write. At the same time, I’m trying out some freelance writing to make some extra dough. So I do the freelance writing for the first half of the day and I work on my writing for the other half. But I’m not making much progress and it is entirely frustrating. I have people asking me when the next book will be done and I’m trying to hurry but I’m definitely not going as fast as I want. Sometimes I get writer’s block and other times I’m so bombarded with all the things I need to do. I need to write but I also need to try to market my first book so that takes time too.

And speaking of marketing, I’ve tried quite a few things to get the word out but what are some things that worked for you? Has anything made much of a difference?

Okay, I guess I really should get back to writing now. No, really I am.
